Are you studying to be an engineer? Congratulations on your great study choice! You are in just the right place because here you can join the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland as a student member.
The Union of Professional Engineers in Finland is an affiliate of the Akava trade union confederation. It brings together engineering students, working engineers, and other technical experts – you can join this community as soon as you start studying.
Students who are studying to become engineers, building architects, construction foremen or laboratory sciences can join as a student member. Your community, the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland, will accompany you after graduation and you will always receive expert help and support, whatever your situation is.
You get the benefits and services of the Union at a student price of €30 for 5 years and you can be part of a community that supports you at all stages of your life.
Student membership
As a student, you join the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland through the Union of Engineering Students and its local associations. The Union of Engineering Students monitors the interests of technical students, in particular, and maintains engineering student traditions, while also creating new traditions!
When you graduate
When you graduate, you will be able to transfer your student membership to full membership by filling out a graduation notice. It is worthwhile joining the Union already when you are a student, as after graduating you will receive a discount on the membership fee for the first 18 months – it is a profitable deal!

Remember to join the unemployment fund already during your studies! You can join the KOKO unemployment fund through the Union of Professional Engineers.
